(COVID-19) Update (Revised) – 6/29/20 (Bahamas)

GradWeek Bahamas Travelers & Parents,

On June 22nd of last week, we had emailed you an important update regarding the new requirement set in place by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation. It was previously announced that all visitors will be required to present a COVID-19 TR-PCR Negative (Swab) Test upon arrival, starting July 1, 2020.  Results must be no more than ten (10) days old.  Additionally, visitors will be required to fill out an electric Health Visa.

However, as of today June 29, 2020, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation have announced the following change:

  • Visitors will be required to present a COVID-19 TR-PCR Negative (Swab) Test upon arriving in the Bahamas between July 1 and July 7 must present results no more than ten (10) days old. Those who are arriving in The Bahamas after July 7 must present results no more than seven (7) days old

Depending on where you live, tests can be obtained in a variety of ways, even at many CVS Pharmacies.  Where you can go online, fill out a form, and make an appointment.  Remember, the test must now be done within seven (7) days of your departure date.  It can’t be more than seven (7) days old.  Please take into account that results may take 2-4 business days.

All travelers will be required to complete an electronic Health Visa prior to departure at https://travel.gov.bs/ and only takes a few minutes. Each traveler will need to upload their test results and provide contact information that is crucial for contact tracing purposes. An automated response will be provided upon completion, and it is essential that travelers present proof of confirmation upon arrival in their destination.
